Megapacks, which are specifically designed for large-scale energy storage applications will be used to support the efforts of MCCo in bringing affordable energy to their clients in the University Circle area of the City of Cleveland, Ohio. The utility-scale battery provides trustworthy energy storage for grid resilience through frequency regulation and load shedding. The packs are considered sustainable, scalable, and environmentally responsible.
Each Megapack can store over 3.9 MWh of energy.
This project with MCCo will employ eight total Tesla Megapacks for a total of 15.4MW/30.8MWhr of battery power.
The anticipated number of years in the lifespan of the Battery.
The number of battery nodules in each pack.
Each Megapack powers the equivalent energy of 3,600 average American homes for one hour.
The number of anticipated Megapacks that will be produced in 2026 at the Mega Lathrop Facility.
44 tons — or 84,000 LBS — of weight per pack.
Infinitely scalable.
The project will be managed by Ullman Electric & Technologies, under the leadership of Project Manager Nick Scheutzow.
Convergence Energy, NEI Electric Power Engineering, Intelligent Generation, with Scheeser Buckly Mayfield, and Rovisys; as well as program guidance from Ernst & Young and DLA Piper.
